I'd like to take your next workshop, but my schedule doesn't allow it. What should I do? Impulse Workshops are ongoing, and new workshop dates are scheduled regularly. Check our calendar for upcoming dates.
I'm interested in learning improv, but I'm worried I'm not funny enough. Is this going to present a problem? We
don't care how funny you are, or aren't. As long as you show up with an
open mind and ready to have fun, the 'funny' will take care of itself.
I'd
like to try your 6-week workshop, but I'm not much of a performer. Can
I take the class and not be in the finale performance? No. Your finale performance will be the most fun and rewarding part of the workshop.
How do you compare to other improv classes available in Colorado? We don't. Impulse Theater has been doing improv, and only improv, for nearly 20 years. We've been compared to Second City, The Groundlings, Improv Olympic
and almost any other nationally renowned improv comedy troupe you can
think of. We've done over 4,500 shows at our theater and over 1,000 at
other venues. Trust us. We'll take care of you.
Do you only offer one 6-week workshop? If, after the first 6-week workshop, you decide you'd like to continue we also offer a Level 2 & Level 3 workshop.
Are the workshops a good way to get into the regular cast? Impulse Theater only recruits new cast members through auditions.
When do you hold auditions? We generally hold auditions twice a year depending on what positions, if any, need to be filled.
Will taking the workshops help my chances in the audition? Taking our workshops will probably help your audition, but there is no special consideration during the selection process.
